请结合你的经历或理解，谈谈你眼中的幸福。以“What is happiness”为题，写一篇词数不少于120的短文。
What is happiness? Different people have different ideas. Some people are rich; they think they are happy. Other people have many friends, so they feel happy. Still others are happy because their lives are meaningful. For children, happiness often suggests eating something good or playing with toys. For a stamp collector, stamps bring more delight than meals. And for a scientist, a discovery or an invention rather than anything else gives him greatest satisfaction.
Happiness exists only when pain exists. Just as a person who does not know failure never knows success, a person, who has not experienced suffering or sadness never knows what happiness means.
Cheer up and be happy. Happiness is not far from you. It’s just around you. Try to grasp it and enjoy it.
Culture in general is concerned with beliefs and values on the basis of which people explain experiences and behaviors, individually or in groups. Generally speaking, culture refers to a group or community with which you share common experiences that shape the way you understand the world.
The same person, thus, can belong to several different cultures depending on his or her birthplace, nationality, ethnicity, family status, gender, age, language, education, physical condition, religion, profession, place of work and so on.
Culture is often at the root of communication challenges. Exploring historical experiences and the ways in which various cultural groups have related to each other is important in opening channels for cross-cultural communication. Becoming more aware of cultural differences, as well as exploring cultural similarities, can help you communicate with others more effectively. Next time you find yourself in a confusing situation, ask yourself how culture may be shaping your own reactions, and try to see the world from the others’ point of view.
Culture is mainly about beliefs and values that people in a certain region share. Knowing more about culture differences can help us achieve effective communication with people from different cultures.
In my opinion, culture diversity can bring us lots of benefits. For one thing, it makes our world more colorful. How boring our planet would be if there were only one culture! For another, it can lead to a higher level of human civilization.
How should we solve problems with culture differences? First of all, we need to have an open mind to accept them by looking for aspects in common. Secondly, we must respect them. As the saying goes, “When in Rome do as the Romans do.” we must act according to locals’ customs and habits wherever we go. Last but not least, we’re supposed to learn from different cultures. There is no doubt that each culture has its own advantages
